AUSTIN, Texas, January 06, 2010 — Simple Power announced the addition of Allan Brooks and David Luppino to their Board of Directors. With more than 50 years of industry experience and many successful ventures between them, they bring a wealth of knowledge, skills, and a broad network of resources to Simple Power.
Allen Brooks comes to Simple Power's Board of Directors with forty years of experience in the energy and investment industries. A leader in the oil industry and in the changing world of energy, Mr. Brooks will add another dimension to Simple Powers already diverse knowledge base.
Mr. Brooks states, "The deregulation of the Texas electric power market has created opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop new business models to better serve consumers by delivering electricity more efficiently and at a reduced cost while also creating value for their investors. I am excited about joining Simple Power and assisting its dynamic management team in accomplishing these objectives."
Throughout his career, Mr. Brooks has served as an energy securities analyst and an oilfield service company manager amongst many other distinguished positions within the industry. Currently, he is serving as an advisor to Parks Paton Hoepfl & Brown, a boutique oilfield service investment banking firm where he publishes Musings from the Oil Patch, an esteemed energy newsletter. A notable force in the oil industry, Mr. Brooks was recognized as a Wall Street Journal All-Star analyst during his career as a Wall Street oilfield service securities analyst.
Mr. Brooks is an economic graduate of the University of Connecticut and holds a M.S. degree in Economics from Cornell University. In 1975, he received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Brooks resides in Houston, Texas with his wife. They have 2 grown daughters and 4 granddaughters.

David Luppino has also joined the Board of Directors and is currently the chief executive officer of Simple Power. Mr. Luppino has more than 10 years experience in the energy and finance industry. Prior to launching Simple Power, Mr. Luppino rose through the ranks to become president and chief operating officer of Alberta Watt Exchange (Watt-Ex), where he negotiated and executed the sale of Watt-Ex to the Toronto Stock Exchange. He also worked at Dynegy, where he established a corporate risk management office in Calgary for the Canadian trading operations.
Mr. Luppino holds an MBA from the University of Texas and a Bachelors Degree in International Relations from Pomona College in Claremont, California. He resides in Austin with his wife and 3 children.
